    Hi Guys.

I'm not too sure how all of this works, but does the membership fee/s + ongoing costs include a CAMS license as the club is CAMS affiliated?
Just thought I'd ask the question before signing up!

    Cheers,
    Nick

no it means you are a member of a CAMS affiliated club, if you wish to join CAMS and hold a L2S licence you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club. $45 initial joining fee for OZ LSx Club then dues of $30 annually. CAMS licence can be found here

The main advantage actual membership gives over just signing up is CAMS affiliation, so if you wish to compete at an event run under CAMS guidelines all you need is a CAMS licence (approx $100 pa) or most events let you utilise a CAMS day licence ($25?) which is what most people did for our last skidpan day. Events for which a CAMS licence is required are things like Temora 1000m which many of us have competed at the last two years, hill climbs like Rob Roy etc.. See for example http://www.cams.com.au/get-involved/...e-and-try-days

The reason the forms don't have account details is so people don't pay before their membership has been approved.

    Hi Bob,

We do have a number of members who've competed at the Temora 1000 and Snowy Mountains 1000, which both require CAMS licences (we are a CAMS affiliated club and one of, if not THE cheapest, around for membership). Great if you want to do those or other CAMS events like hillclimbs etc but due to the way the club came into being most members and therefore most activities are based in Vic..

    Cheers,
    Gary
